President Jonathan has a second wife who gave him his children.

Unknown to most Nigerians, President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan has another wife, aside from the First Lady, Dame Patience Ibifaka (née Oba). The existence of his second wife, Mrs. Lott Jonathan, popularly called Mrs. Lott J, is one major aspect of GEJ's family life, which is consciously being kept out of the awareness of most Nigerians. Lott J is not just President Jonathan's second wife, she is also the mother of his children. A Law graduate of Rivers State University of Science and Technology (RSUST), Lott J is the daughter of Chief F.D. Lott, renowned lawyer and former Attorney General of Bayelsa State. She is the cousin of Dezieni Allison-Madueke, the controversy-inclined Minister of Petroleum, and the two are as close as blood sisters can be. Sources gathered that Lott J's father is a member of the Governing Council of Niger Delta University, Bayelsa. Sources disclosed that Lott J has been married to the President even before he made his foray into politics. It was gathered that after Jonathan became the Deputy-Governor of Bayelsa State, Lott J tried to muscle her way into his heart, by using her two sons as a bargaining chips to tie his hand. However, she met a resistance in a fiery Patience, who foiled all her attempts. By the time Jonathan became the governor of Bayelsa State, he decided to relocate his second wife and two sons to the United States of America. Shortly after Jonathan became president, Lott J came back to Nigeria with her two sons, and made Abuja her place of abode. Sources disclosed that Lott J lives in one of the most highbrow areas in Maitama Street. Her husband is said to pay her a visit every Sunday. Described as a very easy-going and self-effacing lady, Lott J owns and runs a private school, Aduvie Montessori International. It is situated off Blantyre Street in Maitama and it is rated as one of the best in FCT Abuja.

JUST ONE WEEK AFTER GOVERNOR OBI LEFT OFFICR, YOUTHS HAVE ACCUSED HIS AIDE OF EMBEZZLIG N40BN MEANT FOR YOUTHS EMPOWERMENT, BUT HE DENIES.

Anambra Youths Protest Non-Payment of the Empowerment Fund ...Obi’s Aid Denies Involvement Barely one week after the exit of the former Anambra Governor, Chief Peter Obi,  some sections of youths from the state yesterday protested the non payment of the N40 million empowerment fund released by the former Gov. Peter Obi, accusing the Special Assistant to the former Governor, Hon. Nduka Alor of playing pranks with the payment of the fund. Obi on Thursday, March 13, 2014 announced the release of N40million to 400 youths who were in August last year trained in various skills including poultry management, fish production, soap making, snail and poultry management among other skills. Over 500 youths were however trained for the empowerment but only 400 youths submitted their business plan as directed by the office of SA on youth Moblisation. The protesting youths alleged that Hon. Nduka Alor asked them to make initial payment of N20,000 before collecting the N100,000 draft while others who were not favoured  grumble that the former Governor’s aide smuggled in fake names of people who never attended the training. While briefing newsmen in Awka, the Special Assistant to the former Governor, Hon. Nduka debunked the allegation describing them as baseless, unfounded, null and void. He explained that those circulating the rumour are not Anambra youths but overzealous politicians who want to dent his image. “I want to categorically state that all these rumours are baseless and unfounded. Those circulating the rumour want to tarnish my image and rubbish my political ambition as most of the said youths did not even attend the empowerment training but want to take home money. We disbursed the money according to the directives given by the former Gov. Peter Obi and we worked with their Local Government Coordinators. As I speak to you, I am sure that the 98 percent of the youths who attended the training have all gotten their cheques, the remaining two percent have some issues either with their names or with their address or proposal which I am sure we will ratify today and settle everybody that his or her name appeared on our list” I did my work diligently to ensure that we curb crime rate by engaging the youths meaningfully and some people are not happy because they are wondering how I used my little office as SA to the Governor to attract such empowerment fund.  I have appealed to the remaining people who were not captured in the first batch to exercise patient as our youth friendly Governor, Chief Willie Obiano has promised to continue the empowerment” he said. Alor also savoured the opportunity to call on the youths who have been empowered to make judicious use of the empowerment fund as he has concluded plans by his team to kick start Local Government monitoring of what the youths established with the fund according to the approved business plan stressing that anybody that diverts the fund will be seriously dealt with by the Government, even as he thanked the youths who worked with him since August 2012 when he was appointed Special aid to the Governor. He however congratulated the new Governor, Chief Willie Maduabuchi Obiano  on his inauguration as the Executive Governor of Anambra State, urging him to savour the historic and laudable opportunity to continue with the programme of improving the well being of Ndi-Anambra. “I also salute the out-gone governor, Chief Peter Obi CON for all his accomplishments and for leaving footprint in the sands of time in Anambra State and by extension

Joy as Obiano mounts governorship saddle, calls on Ngige, Nwoye to join hands to move Anambra

The over 35,000 people in Alex Ekwueme Square, venue of the inauguration of Chief Willie Obiano as new governor of Anambra State Monday erupted in tumultuous joy after the Chief Judge of Anambra State, Justice Peter Umeadi swore him in. The crowd which is over twice the carrying capacity of the square were there to witness the change of baton from Chief Peter Obi to Obiano to herald a new administration for the state. Speaking at the event, the chairman of the inauguration planning committee, Mr Chinedu Idigo apologized for every inconveniences that everyone may be undergoing because of the large turnout, saying that the square had never been that crowded, and that more people attended than they anticipated. Idigo said it is the first time in the state that an out-going governor will be handing over to an in-coming one. He said that he is happy that such a feat was happening under the leadership of APGA. Speaking also, Chief Obi corroborated Idigo, saying that, “Jim was not there to hand over to Onoh in the old Anambra State. In the new Anambra State, Ezeife handed over to nobody, Mbadinuju did not hand over to Ngige and of course Ngige was not there to hand over to me. “I had nowhere to go to after my swearing in, I had no official car to drive, so I went with my 504 to my village. Today as we hand over to Obiano, he will have brand new bullet proof jeep to go back with, and he is going straight to the governor’s lodge. “He had told me to keep staying at the governor’s lodge for six weeks so I will have time to move away, but I told him I have no business there any longer and that I have already moved out, so he can go straight there from here.” Obi reiterated that he has no hidden pact with the new governor, that his only pact with him is that he should ensure he works for Anambra people. He said he is today leaving behind financially sound state that is second to none in the entire country. An elated Chief Obiano who blew his wife and children several kisses on the podium immediately after his swearing in said he is ready for the work ahead. He assured Anambra people that he will not fail in his promises and promised to take the state to greater heights. “I assure you that you made a wise decision by heeding the pleas of our late leader, Ojukwu to vote me and Nkem Okeke. 10 years ago, Anambra was appalling, it was so much that the late writer, Achebe described those causing it as a small group of renegades. To God be the glory, today the table has turned against them. “Eight years under APGA, the story has changed. Time has come for us to show that our entrepreneurial spirit can take root here. We thank Obi for an excellent work, the good news here is that there is hope. We urge Ngige, Tony Nwoye, Ifeanyi Ubah and other people who contested the governorship with us to come and join hands with us. “We must not let the benefits that divide us to deny our people of political benefits. I urge you all to join hands with us to move our state forward.” Obiano called. Meanwhile, President Goodluck Jonathan has assured that Governor Peter Obi will remain his honourary special adviser on Finance until plans are concluded to bring him fully into his cabinet. Senator Ndi Obi, Special adviser to the president on Inter party matters who represented the president thanked the people of the state fo0r the love they have shown to both the out-going governor and the incoming governor, saying that he prays that love will continue to lead the state. The event was attended by several sons and daughter of Anambra State from all walks of life including the Diaspora. Chief Theodore Orji of Abia State was also at the ceremony to witness the swearing in.

The chairman of the Anambra State traditional rulers council, Igwe Nnaemeka Achebe while introducing Obi for the conferment of the title said it took the council time to convince Obi to accept the title as he preferred to be known simply as Mister. Achebe said it took the council to assure Obi that all the traditional ruler were going to finance the conferment for him to accept it. FG, APGA in battle to employ Gov Obi’s services as he leaves office

The duo of the federal government and the All Progressives Grand Alliance(APGA) the party under which Governor Peter Obi came to power are in a struggle to retain his services as he leaves office next Monday, HALLMARK has gathered. Since Obi’s tenure started winding down, our correspondent can reveal that on several occasions, agents of the federal government on visits to Anambra State have always made mention of plans to retain the service of the governor when he leaves office. In February, the coordinating minister of Education, Nyesom Wike on a visit to the state to witness the handover of school buses, laptop computers and power generating sets to Schools stated clearly that Governor Peter Obi was too young to be sent to retirement simply because his tenure as governor has expired. Wike said the Federal government planned to keep Obi busy with federal engagements that will make him useful, both to Anambra State and to the country in general. Last week’s presentation of his eight years score card also threw up the same topic as the coordinating minister of the economy, Dr Ngozi Okonjo Iweala told Governor Obi’s wife pointedly that if she was making plans to go on a long holiday with her husband, she should perish the thought. “We have devised ways to keep your husband occupied, so if you have been planning a long holiday for him, am afraid it will not work,” Okonjo-Iweala told Obi’s wife. Meanwhile, sources have revealed to our correspondent that APGA is planning to give the federal government a serious fight if only to retain the services of the out-going governor, which they said will boost the image of the party for further elections. One of the sources said the national chairman of the party, Chief Victor Umeh has met the governor to speak on the disadvantages of him leaving the party to join the PDP-led federal executive council. The source said despite Obi’s calm and gentle mien, he has remained a master strategist for the party and together with Chief Victor Umeh, he has planned most of the victories which the party has gained. Last weekend, Chief Umeh who spoke at the end of tenure report of the governor in Awka was forced to let the cat out of the bag when Dr Okonjo-Iweala openly said that the federal government has provided a space for Obi to come and serve. Umeh told Obi to remember that he is now the leader of the party and now serves in the same capacity that the former leader of the party, Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu left behind. Umeh bluntly told federal government to keep off Obi, saying he already has a job as the Chairman BOT of APGA. He also told Obi, “ we will not let you go, you are the leader of our party, so you must forget all the offers. This party gave you fame, so we want to say wherever you eventually find yourself, represent this party well.” Governor Peter Obi has for three years been a honourary special adviser to the president on economic matters, and his appointment; if it works will see him become a substantive member of the federal executive council.

Jonathan flags off construction of 2nd Niger Bridge for N117bn

President Goodluck Jonathan in Onitsha Monday conducted the ground breaking ceremony for the construction of a second bridge across the River Niger to ease traffic on the existing one which was built over 50 years ago. Speaking at the ceremony, Jonathan said the bridge will herald further development in the south east and also ease the pain of travelers who have to stay in the traffic for a long period of time to cross the bridge during festive season. Jonathan said the construction of the bridge will be a fulfillment of his promise to the people of the South East Geopolitical zone during the 2011 electioneering campaign. He assured that the construction of the bridge will bring about development in the zone and also open up the south East to the rest of the country and the world. “This bridge will be key to development, not only to the South East but also to the entire country. It is a project that is designed to succeed. People talk about the failure of previous flag offs of the bridge by various administration but I know that projects like this require strict planning, else it will fail. “Many people may ask why are we coming now, or maybe we are doing this because of politics, but it is not true. We only had to wait and plan carefully because a project like this requires all avenues of funding to be made known. We are providing about 25percent of the funding for take off, and that is coming from SURE-P.” Jonathan said. Jonathan also said that it is a good thing that the first Niger Bridge was constructed by Dr Nnamdi Azikiwe, and today, after about 50 years another Azikiwe is here to construct the second Niger bridge. Anambra State governor, Mr Peter Obi in his welcome speech said it is only the Jonathan administration that has given the Igbos the place they deserve in the country. He said that up till today, the Nigerian government never gave Dr Nnamdi Azikiwe the burial he deserved despite his contribution to nation building. “But under your administration, Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu-Ojukwu was given a very befitting burial. Today you have taken over the construction of a Maosoleum for Zik’s resting place. We are happy that after a fake flag off by the Obasanjo government, the bridge is today becoming a reality, before now Federal Government was asking Anambra and Delta state government to contribute N10billion each for the construction, but today you are doing it all by yourself.” The chairman South East Governior’s Forum, and governor of Abia State, Chief Theodore Orji, Delta State governor, Emmanual Uduaghan, Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu, his House of representatives Counterpart, Emeka Ihedioha and the minister of finance and coordinating minister of the economy, Ngozi Okonjo Iweala who spoke at the event eulogized President Jonathan for the will to construct the bridge. All speakers said the south east needs to pay back the president in 2015 when the presidential election will be conducted by voting him back to power to continue the good work he has started. Hon Ogbuefi Ozomgbachi, chairman House committee on works and his counterpart in the senate, Senator Anyaogu Eze said the national assembly will give the required backing to the president for the project. Ozomgbachi said there will be joy in Lagos, Aba, Onitsha, Kano, Bayelsa, Nnewi and other commercial cities as the construction of the bridge commences as it will herald economic boom. The bridge according to the Minister of Works, Arc Mike Onolememen who gave a breakdown of the statistics for the construction will cost a whooping N117billion and will be constructed within 48 months by Julius Berger Consortium - Nigeria Sovereign Investment Authority under a design, build, finance, operate and transfer model.
