PPA rejects Aguata National Assembly results says it's image tarnishing

Mr Godwin Ezeemo the  State Leader of Progressive People’s  Alliance (PPA)in Anambra  State has called for option A 4 in future elections in the country

He said the use of option A4 would check mate lots of electoral practices and make the true voice of the people heard .

Ezeemo said the party rejects the result as announced by Independent National Electoral Commission(INEC) regarding Aguata Federal House of Representatives

He  disassociates itself with the election and  called for total cancellation of the election in the area or threatened to  challenge it in law court .

He expressed his displeasure while speaking with newsmen in his country home Umuchu in Aguata Local Government Area of the state on Tuesday.

According to him, he described INEC upholding the result that was full of irregularity and contradictions as image battery and tarnishing of its self.

“ I must appreciate a  reasonable degree of improvement made by the commission in other aspects of the electoral process but condemn in strong terms the announcement of Aguata result by INEC in just concluded elections.

“ INEC cannot be speaking from two sides of its mouth, they want to give a resounding and transparent electioneering process to the country and still display show of shame.

“INEC should stand by it words of operating best practice and proving to  the world that we have best brains to handle of our affairs “ he said ..

Ezeemo said that in spite of delay in assumption of duty by the ad hoc workers that the card reader was not functioning well and the workers refused to switch over to manual accreditation immediately yet the stop accreditation without attending to all  voters saying that  time is against them.

‘ The presiding officer refused to give extra time nor use accredit and vote since the commenced about 1pm so with that  action lots of voters was shot out of voting it was painful’ he said

He said that the result was doctored as the result released in most polling units in Amsie, Uga, Ekwuluobia,Achala among others  did not tally with electoral  records of the area.

Ezeemo said that INEC was yet to curb money sharing in polling units on election day as that was the trade and stock of some political party on March 28 election.

He said that stiffer penalty should be applied to political party sharing money to voters on election day as such would check mate the practices.

Also Mrs Angela Okoye PPA candidate for Aguata Federal  Constituency said that the actions of the INEC workers indicates that the commission was favoring a particular party.

Okoye said that voters in her strong holds was not accredited as the claim that time was against while accreditation started by 2pm and voting ended about 6pm

She said that INEC should correct its short falls and give credible elections on April 11.

TROUBLE BREAKS OUT IN COLLATION CENTER, ELECTION MAY END IN STALEMATE

Trouble has broken out in the Abuja Presidential election collation center, with PDP rejecting the ongoing exercise on the premise that the result of the election has already been printed by the APC in connivance with Prof Jega, even before the end of the exercise.

The PDP agent in the colation centre, Dr Godsday Orubebe has commenced a protest, shuting up the center on the premise that Jega is compromised, partial and tribalistic.

Orubebe insists that Jega sent a committee to River State to ascertain the protest of the people of the state ignoring the letter of protest by the PDP, and refusing to send delegates to ascertain the truth about the rigging in Katsina and Kano.

He insists that Jega must vacate the centre and go to his office to constitute a delegation to deal with the protest letter of the PDP before the exercise can continue.

Sources said that even though the election is on going, the election has already been rigged in the favour of APC.

Jega is already calling for security agents to bundle Orubebe out of the centre.

APGA rejects INEC declared results, insists it won landslide on polling units

By Odogwu Emeka Odogwu, Awka

The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) yesterday denounced the results announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) , saying it was concocted results and not what happened at the polling units.

Senatorial candidate of APGA for Anambra central senatorial zone , Chief Victor Umeh flanked by the Anaocha/Njikoka/Dunukofia federal constituency Dozie Nwankwo and Awka North and South Federal constituency, Chief Godson Ezenagu insisted the results were manufactured.

Umeh announced that APGA is heading for the Tribunal to challenge the election results declared by INEC , expressed optimism that they would get judgement as it happened in 2003 with APGA getting judgment at last in the Tribunal.

Umeh speaking for others said documentary evidences from the polling units showed APGA won at the first ballot in all polling units reeling out the results in Form EC81copies the party collected.

Briefing a world press conference at his Aguluzigbo country home said INEC declared a fraudulent result, adding that they were shocked at the results declared by INEC.

The APGA candidates wondered why those who lost elections at the polling units should be those announced as winners rather than those who won.

Umeh informed that himself based on polling unit results as well as Dozie Nwankwo , Godson Ezenagu and Ifeanyi Ibezi for Idemmili North /South federal constituency who was unavoidable absent , all won their elections based on field results as contained in EC81 signed by the various political parties.

He admitted that although the election started with early challenges it went fine until collation when the ruling party -PDP in connivance with INEC, used soldiers to intimidate and harass the agents before taking possession of the INEC results being collated at the different local government areas.

Umeh wondered the kind of results declared by INEC without ward and local government collation even with the absence of collation agents.

He informed that the rigging was in line with 2003 style which APGA challenged and won in the tribunal insisting that the PDP has kissed the dust as the documentary evidences are enough to invalidate what INEC announced for PDP with concocted results.

HOW UBAH, OBIJACKSON CLASHED OVER ALLEGED RIGGING

At least 5 persons including 2 policemen and the Group Managing Director of NESTOIL PLC, Dr. (Sir) Ernest Azudialu Obiejesi were serious wounded on Sunday in a fight between him and the Director of Transformation Ambassador of Nigeria (TAN), Dr. Ifeanyi Uba.

The Free-For-All Fight began around 3.30pm at the headquarters of Ihiala Local Government Area of Anambra which is the collation center for Ihiala Federal House of Representative, and lasted for more than 45minute over an alleged result mutilation.

Daily Times learnt that trouble started when Dr. Ifeanyi Uba allegedly found Sir Obiejesi while falsifying the original result sheet been submitted to the collation center in favour of his party, APGA. Ifeanyi Uba was supporting PDP.

“When Uba found Sir Obiejesi popularly known as Obijackson falsifying the original sheets to favour APGA and his candidate, Uba encountered him, snatched the paper away from him and they began to fight to the charging of their respective supporters,” our source said.

Sir Obiejesi clothing was torn even as two vehicles were badly damaged at the process but the key players refused to grant the press interview on what truly transpired.

Confirming the report on phone, the Anambra State Police Public Relations Officer (PPPRO) Uche Eze said “there was crisis at ihiala local government area which is the collation centre but I do not know the names of those involved in the fight. But two Police men were injured and already taken to hospital for treatment.”

Our reporter reliably gathered that it was effort of policemen sent from the state police command that brought the matter to a halt.

Politicians express disappointment in Jega’s card readers in Anambra - ‘Rigging was so high you can vote even with an ATM’ - Pockets of violence registered

Politicians in Anambra State have expressed disappointment over the use of card readers in last Saturday’s election, saying it its introduction and subsequent failure paved way for rigging, confusion and violence in the presidential and national assembly elections.

It almost became obvious that the election may be short of credible when despite late arrival of election officials, attempts by the polling officers to booth the card reader for accreditation failed.

In Aguluzoigbo civic centre, the Poll official, who identified himself as Ahmed said the card reader could not be started as despite all efforts, it refused to booth. When told to resort to manual accreditation, Ahmed said that the instruction is for them to do so in cases where the card reader has already identified the PVC as authentic.

“But with the failure of the card reader, we cannot even identify the PVC, let alone authenticating that it actually belonged to them. So we are waiting for orders from above before we can continue.”

ELEKENEWS.BLOGSPOT.COM gathered that the same was the case in most parts of Anambra State, while in some places the card reader came on though but failed to identify even authentic PVCs, leading to confusion.

It was learnt that it took persistent phone calls from the Anambra State governor, Chief Willie Obiano to the INEC chairman, Prof Attahiru Jega for the card readers to be jettisoned and manual accreditation taken to, but that did not happen until about 1pm when actual voting should have started.

According to reports gathered in several places in Anambra, despite the resolve to use manual accreditation, the exercise was still short of fair and credible as in some places, politicians and electorates complained of incomplete materials such as ballot papers and result sheets.

In Ochuche Primary School in Ogbaru where the duo of the APGA candidate and the PDP candidate for senate, Chief Dubem Obaze and Princess Stella Oduah were to vote, the INEC officials were sent back for bringing only the House of Representatives ballot papers without the Senate and Presidential.

Plea for the House of Representatives election to commence with the hope that the ballot papers for the senate and presidential will arrive were refused by stakeholders in the area.

When actual voting started in most areas, election officials were overwhelmed by the crowd of people that turned out for the election, with the card reader out, many people were said to have even brought it cards belonging to other people to vote.

A Labour party official who refused to disclose his name said, “In Odoagba ward, in Awka South where I voted, the rigging was so high that people even collected cards belonging to other people and used them to vote.

“The poll officers were overwhelmed, and they were so tired that they just had to let everything go. Agents of various political parties were seen at the polling centre haggling with voters over how much should be paid them, the whole thing was a sham.”

Several politicians who spoke to our correspondent insisted that the introduction of the card readers heightened rigging the in election.

Chief Victor Umeh said, “Jega’s card reader has failed. Those who are expert riggers will simply take advantage of it. I have been getting reports from the field about wide spread rigging in mainly Agulu and Nri where Peter Obi and Uche Ekwunife came from.

“There are also several reports of violence in those places, and we had taken time to report to the police that thise areas will be very highly violence prone because of the desperation of Uche Ekwunife and Peter Obi.”

Meanwhile, the chairman of Anaocha local government area, Ikeobi Ejiofor who is a staunch APGA chief and Ogochukwu Egolum another APGA chieftain were kidnapped by unknown persons in Nri and Obeledu, Anaocha local government area.

Ejiofor was said to have been taken at Agu Ndu square in his community while mobilizing his supporters for the election, while Egolum was taken in his village square, Nri, and their whereabout were still not known as at the time of filling this report.

National Chairman of APGA, Chief Umeh said the police and other security agents have been alerted and a search for them have commenced.

As at the time of filling this report, election results were still trickling into the Awka South local government headquarters which served as the collation centre for the Anambra Central Senatorial election, while rescheduled voting has also commenced.

DRAMA AS PHILANTHROPIST STOPS FLAVOUR FROM PERFORMING IN AWKA, CHASES HIM OUT

Popular musician, Flavour was today(Sunday) humiliated in Awka as he made to hit the stage with his music.

The Flavour Nabania cronner was to perform at the 50th birthday ceremony and 15th Anniversary of the foundation of an Anambra philanthropist, Dr Mrs Nkoli Imo of Adadioranma Foundation.

Trouble started for flavor when as at 3pm, he was still yet to arrive, despite that his boys had set up their musical equipments and the guests were already itching to have him play.

Consequent upon his lateness, a local musician was brought in to play and usher in the celebrant, almost immediately after, Flavour arrived the Emmaus House venue of the event.

Though it was not clear if Flavour had been held back by circumstances beyond him, but despite his lateness, he refused to hit stage when he arrived, instead insisting on being given security because a large crowd of young people besieged his car when his arrival was announced.

Flavour hopped out of his car and made straight to the musical stand where his boys were and squeezed himself into a corner, almost shying away from the barrage of camera phones that tried to pick him out.

Unknowing to him, the celebrant was already unhappy with him, and when he made to begin his performance, the celebrant objected to his playing, citing his arrogance, lateness and the near emptiness of the VIP stand.

The celebrant ELEKENEWS.BLOGSPOT.COM further gathered was irked by the fact that his special guests which included Senator, Members of the house of reps and other top politicians had taken their leave before Flavour finally accepted to play.

“Tell him not to play any music here, and let him get prepared to give me back my money”, the philanthropist bellowed at Flavours Manager who tried to approach her.

Meanwhile, a crowed was already gathering at the venue as people from their homes who heard the artiste was in town abandoned everything to come get a glimpse of him and were disappointed that he was not able to play at last.

While some of the spectators blamed Flavour for his arrogance since he attained stardom and praising the woman for humiliating him, others cursed the philanthropist for not letting their idol play.

ELEKENEWS.BLOGSPOT.COM gathered that Flavour had been mobilized with over N3million for the show, and balance was still awaited.

It was a thoroughly humiliated Flavour that was led back to his car by security agents at about 5pm after all pleas by his managers, security men and aides of the philanthropist for him to play failed.
