Ahead of deadline: Ex-elected LG chairmen in Anambra threaten showdown over entitlement


Former elected Local government chairmen in Anambra who served between 2014 and 2016 have said they would stop at nothing in their bid to get their entitlement in full.
One of the aggrieved ex-council chiefs who pleaded anonymity told newsmen in Awka that they were yet to get response to the 4-page letter they wrote to Gov. Willie Obiano on the matter dated April 25.
According to the letter made available to newsmen, the ex-chairmen are demanding the sum of N21, 987,000 said to be the shortfall of approved take-home as approved by RAMFC law Vol. 1 2007 among others.
He said the14 day ultimatum given to the state government would elapse on May 11, and that they were yet to get words from the state government on the matter.
“According to him, “we council chairmen we may have to drop their support for the governor in the next election if their legitimate demands are not met.
 “The ultimatum of 14 working days we issued will expire tomorrow and it is unfortunate that up till now, we have not got positive response.
“Our demands are legitimate, all we asking for is for to pay us shortfall of our entitlement as approved by RAMFC and it amounts to N21, 987, 000 to each of us,” he said.
Confirming the looming crisis, chairman of group, Chief Azubuike Iloh said they were still waiting for the government to respond to their demand.
Iloh who was the former chairman of Awka South council said the ex-chairman would address a World Press conference on the administration of the councils for the 30 months period they were in charge.
He further said that they would take legal steps as well as petition various anti-corruption agencies in their bid to get justice.
“By tomorrow (Thursday) we must have exhausted the time for us to dialogue, it may interest you that no word had reached us since we wrote the letter.
“We will do everything legally possible to get what is due to us; we will address a World Press conference to tell the world how the local governments were administered for about 30 months we were in government.
“We will also petition the various anti-corruption agencies against the government,” he said.

Anambra poll: Okorocha joins Campaign to Oust Obiano

state governor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha, has said that nothing will stop the All Progressives Congress from taking over Anambra state in the November 18 poll.
He said the state governor, Chief Willie Obiano, should be writing his handover note  to an APC governor by now.
Okorocha stated this while inaugurating the Rochas Peoples Movement in Anambra state on Monday.
 He said the main objective of the movement was to register grassroots presence in every nook and cranny of the state.
Okorocha who was represented by the South-south/Southeast coordinator of RPM,Dr Simon Nwulu, said he owed the Igbo nation a duty of proper direction in Nigerian politics.
 He said “The Igbo can no longer belong to regional political parties. We must belong to the mainstream. APC is that place to belong.
Anambra is critical in Igbo politics. So we shall all come  down here to deliver the state to the ruling All Progressives Congress. We have the capacity, we have the capability.
 "APC is the structure for the emancipation of the Igbo nation. No man born of a woman can stop us from taking over Anambra state come November 18.
 “At any polling unit during the election, no fewer than 63 members of Rochas Peoples Movement would be present to man the units and protect our votes. That's the magic.
“We shall bring down the Imo formula down here and by the time we had finished Obiano and APGA would just pack and go.
He asked the members of the movement to have their voter’s cards handy, saying that would be a major criterion for confirmation of appointments.
He asked ward coordinators of the movement to mobilized APC members to register in the ongoing voter registration exercise for the purpose of the November18 election
Speaking, the Anambra state coordinator of the movement, Chief Olisa Onyeka, thanked Okorocha for coming over to help.
Onyeka said “You have demonstrated the brother’s keeper spirit with which the Igbo are known for.
“We are assuring you that we are ever ready deliver Anambra state to APC in that election."

Noble Odumegwu joins Anambra Guber race promises good governance


The all progressive congress APC faithful Engineer Noble Odumegwu ALUTU a native of Nnewi Anambra state have joined the race of gladiators who seek the state's seat of power.


The civil engineer who hails from the industrial hub of the state disclose this in an interactive session with news men recently.



According to the engineer as the state gubernatorial quest gets intensified ‎it's no doubt that numerous candidates under various political parties have indicated interest to run the race which is one of the state's  peculiarity.



The Nnewi born said, it is pertinent to know that ‎an endowed state such as Anambra needs ‎leaders with vision and doggedness to delivery of good governance. ‎



He maintained that the era of running government with propaganda are gone and the people are yearning for qualitative leadership, a leader that feels their pulse.


Speaking of his experience and readiness to work for his people, the good governance crusader attest to the fact that the state needs a paradigm shift in virtually all sector, and he has all it takes to do so he said the choice of APC was not just born today he has been a dedicated member of party for long as a result of his zeal to serve his people to the best of his ability, he insist that he and him alone with the help of GOD is the answer to this very important project.



Noble said,Job creation, sustaining old businesses to stand the test of time, reviving every dead businesses, quality education, better healthcare, Keen dedication to youths empowerment among others will be his mandate.


He however called on the people of the state to consider his candidature as it promises to be for the good of all Ndi Anambra and not sectional as it is currently been experienced in the state today.

Tonto Dike's Estranged Husband Churchill to bag Chieftaincy title In Kagoro Kingdom



Kagoro kingdom in Kafanchan, in Kaduna south have disclosed their intention to honour movie actress, Tonto Dike's estranged husband, Olakunle Churchill who is also a philanthropist and with a chieftaincy award.

There was excitement and overwhelming celebration few days at the Kagoro community in Kafanchan, Kaduna state as Non- Religious Organisation, Big Church Foundation led by the Chairman, Dr. Olakunle Churchill and team stormed the village to witness and access the damage caused during the Kada River Massacre.
