Aide to the former governor of Anambra state, Mr. Peter obi, Mr Nduka Alor has
lampooned his former boss for allegedly sponsoring thugs to foment
trouble in Agulu community due to what he described as selfish interest
Hon. Nduka Alor, a native of agulu who served as Special Adviser to the
former governor on youth mobilisation said it is ludicrous for Mr. Peter
Obi to throw all cautions to the wind in his shameless effort to pull
wool over the eyes of Agulu people in their committed desire to cue
behind the State governor, Chief Willie Obiano and the National Chairman
of the Party cum the Senatorial flag bearer of the party in Anambra
Central, Chief Victor Umeh.
Alor, who addressed journalists in Awka yesterday over the recent attack
of Umeh’s campaign vehicles at Agulu, Obi’s home town said that Obi
should by now bury his face in shame in Agulu community.
Recall that the Anambra state governor and Board of Trustees (BOT)
Chairman of All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) , Chief Willie Obiano
and the National chairman of APGA/ Senatorial candidate of Anambra
central senatorial zone, Chief Victor Umeh alongside other APGA leaders
escaped unhurt on Sunday when some sponsored youths attacked them at Agulu during a campaign rally.
During the attack, it was reported that some party chieftains were not
so lucky to escape as the chairman of Anaocha local government area ,
Hon Ike Obi Ejiofor was stoned seriously and beaten to pulp among others
with broken heads, even as many vehicles were damaged including Umeh’s
billboard at ‘Nwagu Agulu’ and its environs.
Hon. Nduka Alor however blamed the attack on Peter Obi saying that “he
is the brain behind all the problems in Agulu. “He had worked for
Anambra State for eight years and nobody disturbed him, I wonder why he
doesn’t want another person to do his work.
“He really wants to create enmity between us and the governor who has
vowed to complete all the projects in Agulu and Anaocha council area
including the popular ‘Agulu lake Resort.
“Governor Obiano promised us that his administration was working on all
projects initiated by our brother, Mr Peter Obi and would complete all
of them in record time assuring us that new projects would soon be
awarded in the community.
"Gov. Obiano also assured us that he will work very hard to develop Agulu
even more than our brother who hails from this town” he said.
The former aide insisted that those who formented trouble in Agulu are
not all from Agulu but hired thugs. “So let Obi stop deceiving our
youths. If he did well for eight years as he claimed, our people will
have no choice but to support him now but the truth remains that he
failed all of us and our stand is to continue to support APGA come what
may. We are not sheep that can be dragged about” he said.
Continuing, Hon. Nduka Alor aligned himself with the stand and
resolutions of the Agulu Youth Movement which states clearly that the
youth body has endorsed the party’s National chairman, Chief Victor Umeh
for Anambra Central Senatorial zone bid, urging youths not to allow
themselves to be used by unscrupulous and over ambitious politicians.
