Anambra governor, Chief Willie Obiano, has
appointed eight high court judges as part of the activities to mark his one
year in office.
The judges are: Arinze Chidozie Akasu;
Theophine Oguji; Michael Okonkwo and Irene Ndigwe.
Others are Raphael Onunkwo; Dennis Maduechesi David Onyefulu and Fidelis Aniukwu.
The new judges were among the 16 forwarded to the National Judicial Council(NJC)
as recommendation for their appointment.Others are Raphael Onunkwo; Dennis Maduechesi David Onyefulu and Fidelis Aniukwu.
Addressing the judges shortly after their swearing in, Obiano assured them of good working conditions, stressing that the judges would move into state of the art accommodation made available to them by the state government immediately.
He noted that this was the first time
in the history of the state when the government was swearing in eight
judges at the same time and providing them with accommodation instantly.
He maintained that the state would provide other facilities to the judges including cars to assist their job.
He urged the new judges to always expedite judgement on kidnapping and other
related crime in line with the state government's policy to reduce crime to the

Thanking the governor on behalf of
others for their appointment, Justice Arinze Chidozie Akasua, pledged that they
would live above board in the discharge of their duty.
He commended the state government for
the various infrastructure it had put in place that made their appointments
possible before the NJC.
