The newly inaugurated chairman of the Peoples Democratic
Party, PDP, Anambra Stated chapter, Prince Ossy Ezenwa has said that his
leadership will extend an olive branch to other warring members of the party
for the sake of peace.
The chairman stated to Hallmark newspaper in an exclusive
interview that his executives will ensure that the PDP in Anambra return to its
winning ways by bringing back all aggrieved members of the party who have left
it, or have remained within, yet working against the interest of the party.
He said that the fortunes of the party in the state has
greatly dwindled, and this was as a result of members not being coordinated,
leading to some working against it, but his leadership will reach out and
ensure that those who are aggrieved with genuine reasons were placated and
brought back.
“The fortunes of PDP you and I know have dwindled, but what
we want to do is to perform the rituals associated with democratic process. We
will start by ensuring that anytime there is election, be it internal or
external, that we give everybody the same opportunity.
“There are people who have entrenched themselves in the old
order, they stay in hotel rooms and write results and all manner of things, but
we are saying that we cannot continue like that.
“The other parallel executives you just mentioned have been
there for a long time, and if you access PDP you will see that we have lost
most of our political offices to other parties, so we need to try new hands.
Our executive is coming to bring good candidates that will stand elections.
“In the case of APC, people did not vote the party but the
presidential candidate, and that is what we want to do here.” He said.
