PETITION: LETTER OF DISPLEASURE ON THE UNJUST TREATMENT MELTED OUT TO THE PEOPLE LIVING WITH SICKLE CELL DISORDER IN NIGERIA ESPECIALLY IN THE SOUTH EASTERN AND NORTHERN ZONES BY NUMEROUS NGOS AND PROMINENT AMONG THEM IS THE FOUNDER SICKER CELL FOUNDATION NIGERIA OWNED BY PROF OLU AKIYANJU.

v    Consequent upon the fact the rate at which information is freely, readily and easily available today in Nigeria today does not resonate with the rate at which Sickle Cell babies are still being made daily in this country.

In the light of the truth that several nongovernmental organizations exist today in Nigeria and have existed for decades in the name of Sickle Cell disorder and Sickle Cell patients.

More so, given the fact that sickle cell anemia still remains the number one most silent killer in the prime, the most painful and frustrating health status of a lifetime, the most abused as well as most unavoidable scourge in the world especially black Africa in general and Nigeria in particular.

v    By reason of the truth that trillions of naira have hitherto been generously donated from all over the world and within the country to these nongovernment organizations who claim to represent Sickle Cell patients and the cause to stop the making of Sickle Cell babies but they don’t.

Given that statistics show the glaring truth that there are more Sickle Cell patients in their youth today in Nigeria and more Sickle Cell babies being born today and more couples with incompatible genotypes being joined in ‘Holy Matrimony’ today thereby perpetuating this wickedness.

We the above named organization made up of those Cell patients who are tired of hiding our identities for fear of victimization, who are tired to watching a most dastardly, most wicked, most evil act being perpetuating and worn out of being used as lab rats by ill-intentioned laboratory scientists and egotistical, self deluded, fraudulent religious leaders, hereby, with the last strength we can summon from this living hell of a soma volitionally given to us by our parents in the name of love, RAISE A PETITION AGAINST.

v    All the Nongovernmental Organizations claiming to exist and function in the name of Sickle Cell disorder and the  patients, chief among them SICKLE CELL FOUNDATION, and declare that they have been causing us pains-emotional and psychological, and that they are fraudulent and imposters. We hereby denounce any association with these foundations and demand they be, WITH IMMEDIATE EFFECT, forestalled from representing us as they never were. WE DEMAND FOR THE THROUGH PROBE OF THE ACTIVITIES OF SICKLE CELL FOUNDATION, NIGERIA AND EVERY OTHER FOUNDATION HAVING THE NOENCLATURE ‘SICKLE CELL’ ATTACHED TO IT.

We, the real sufferers of Sickle Cell Anemia declare these nongovernmental organizations our primary enemies as they have been the eclipse blocking the rays from well meaning people all over the world and the government from getting to us and the cause of cessation of production of sickle cell babies – the height of man’s inhumanity to his fellow man. These foundations are the reason we still have many frustrated sickle cell patient who live a life of hiding in the shadows, pill popping self pity and drug addiction.

v    We hereby demand that all welfare services due to us be channeled through our places of worship-churches, mosques, e.t.c and the expenditure monitored.

v    We demand that Sickle Cell Anemia be given the same status of emergency as was given to Ebola Virus and Bird flu and laws passed and enforced nationwide barring intending couples who are not compatible genotype-wise from being joined in marriage with immediate effect.

v    We, passionately, demand that a nationwide free medical health insurance scheme card be distributed to all Sickle Cell Patients to ensure that the ulcerations, psychological impairment and constant crises associated with their status be given first class medical attention as this alone can restore their sense of humanity and go a long way in reducing the rate of suicide occurring among them these days, thereby securing the high level of intellectual cum creative ingenuity reside among Sickle Cell patients.

v    We also demand to this honourable sector of the government with the confidence that it is dedicated to the provision and protected of the general health and well being of the average Nigerian.
