Mrs
Ify Unachukwu, a broadcaster with the Anambra Broadcasting Service (ABS) has
been nominated as a top 3 finalist in the prestigious Diamond Awards for Media
Excellence (D.A.M.E Prize) 2016 edition.
She was nominated in the Best TV
Documentary category for her two documentaries; Women in Anambra Politics and
Governor Willie Obiano at 60. In a letter from the D.A.M.E Prize Trustees, Mrs
Unachukwu was congratulated for achieving the feat of being one of the three
finalists in the Best TV documentary category nationwide.
While reacting to the
good news, the Managing Director and CEO of the Anambra Broadcasting Service,
Nze Uche Nworah praised Mrs Unachukwu for her professionalism, dedication and
hard work. According to him, "Regardless of the final outcome, Ify
Unachukwu is already a winner for us for making the top 3. We thank her
immensely for bringing such honour to the ABS and to Anambra state".
"We also thank his Excellency, Chief Willie Obiano, Governor of Anambra
state for all the support the state has given to ABS, Ify Unachukwu's award is
a manifestation of the progress the organisation is making with the state
government's support", Nworah concluded. The award comes up this Sunday,
December 4, 2016 in Lagos where the final winner will be announced.
