NUF also tasked the new executive to join hands with the Governors in all the Igbo speaking states that are members of Ohanaeze Ndigbo and other
stakeholders in the region in formulating policies that will revive Igbo culture and language.
In
a congratulatory message it sent yesterday to the new leadership, the
forum said apart from ensuring that everybody is carried along,
the new executive should use their expertise in different fields of human endeavour to collaborate with stakeholders in the region for the purpose of attracting investments to the region.

The statement jointly signed by its President, Augustine Chukwudum and
the Secretary-General, Chinedu Onyebuchi, NUF described the election
that produced the new Ohanaeze executive as free
and fair, saying, "we commend everybody associated with Ohanaeze Ndigbo
whose
effort in one way or the other contributed towards achieving a
rancour-free election that
produced Chief Nnia Nwodo and other members of the executive".
According to the statement, "Knowing fully
well that challenges facing the Igbo nation
in the present day Nigeria is enormous and knowing fully well that
winners and losers must emerge from every election, we task the
Nwodo-led new executive to achieve the above-mentioned feat before the
expiration of their tenure".
"Though
we know that
challenges before the new executive are enormous, we believe that
Ohanaeze Ndigbo with Nwodo at the helm of affair is credible and equal
to the task", NUF further stated.
